Arts And Crafts for Kids at The health Hub

It has been such a joy to give back to the wonderful community I’ve connected with through my life coaching journey – especially the beautiful folks at Heal Scotland (thank you, Lilia Sinclair!) and Juliet Ann Design.

Now, I know what you might be thinking: Isn’t it a bit unusual for a corporate consulting manager to be running an arts and crafts session for kids? Honestly, maybe! But I did it simply because I like children. Nurturing the vibrant, creative spirits of our little ones is something I hold incredibly close to my heart.

When parents asked me what the theme for the session would be, my answer – “Go wild!” – might have raised a few eyebrows. But the magic happened almost instantly. By giving them that freedom, I watched the kids engage so much more deeply with their imagination. I borrowed a little wisdom from the Montessori philosophy for this: first, observe the natural direction a child wants to take, and then gently reinforce and guide them along the way.

(And trust me, that approach works just as well on corporate managers!)

Art is creation, creation is life, and life is constant learning.

Wiem, co możecie sobie teraz myśleć: Czy to nie trochę nietypowe, że menedżer doradztwa korporacyjnego prowadzi zajęcia plastyczne dla dzieci? Szczerze mówiąc, być może! Ale zrobiłem to po prostu dlatego, że lubię dzieci. Pielęgnowanie pełnych życia, kreatywnych dusz naszych najmłodszych to coś, co jest niezwykle bliskie mojemu sercu.

Kiedy rodzice pytali mnie, jaki będzie temat zajęć, moja odpowiedź – „Idźcie na żywioł!” – mogła wywołać lekkie zdziwienie. Ale magia zadziałała niemal natychmiast. Widziałem, jak dzięki tej wolności dzieci o wiele głębiej angażują się w świat własnej wyobraźni. Zaczerpnąłem tu odrobinę mądrości z filozofii Montessori: najpierw obserwuj naturalny kierunek, w którym dziecko chce podążać, a następnie delikatnie je w tym utwierdzaj i prowadź.

(I uwierzcie mi, to podejście działa równie dobrze na menedżerów w korporacjach!)
